Aaron K. Odegard MS, MLS (ASCP) SM, is a quality laboratory coordinator at Baptist Health Jacksonville. He also serves as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He received his master’s degree in biomedical sciences – molecular pharmacology and experimental therapeutics from Mayo Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Mr. Odegard is passionate about medical laboratory science. He serves as a member of the ASCP Social Media and DEI Committees, and the ASCP Commission on Continuing Professional Development (CCPD). He enjoys educating the public, students, and professionals on the topics of leadership, mentorship, and medical laboratory sciences through many platforms including the classrooms and local and regional meetings, and on social media

Director Hodge currently serves as the Director of Instructional Laboratory Operations for Mt San Jacinto College (MSJC) in Southwest Riverside County. Director Hodge has been with the MSJC district for 25+ years beginning her tenure with MSJC as a student worker in 1996. Director Hodge is currently in Progress at Grand Canyon University for a PhD in Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial and Organizational Leadership. Director Hodge also is currently overseeing several capital projects which include 2 new STEM buildings under construction at the San Jacinto and Menifee Valley campuses respectively. Director Hodge oversees a team of approximately 20 classified professionals and acts as a liaison between classified professionals, tenured faculty, and administration in many decision-making matters. Ms. Hodge embodies what MSJC is at the core. Ms. Hodge’s journey shows that representation matters as she continues to give back to the college and community from which she began.

Melody Boudreaux Nelson received her master’s degree in clinical laboratory management from RUSH University in 2019 and has been in laboratory administration roles since 2017. Melody is currently a resident in the Doctor of Clinical Laboratory Science program through the University of Kansas Medical Center. She also sits on the Council of Laboratory Professionals through the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Melody’s experience in laboratory leadership includes oversight roles in a core laboratory, operational management, and informatics.

Laboratory diagnostic development scientist and medical laboratory professional with experience in clinical laboratory, academic medical center, and industry settings with expertise in clinical chemistry, immunology, molecular diagnostics and mass spectrometry. ASCP certified Specialist in Chemistry (SC), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), and Technologist in Molecular Biology (MB). Part-time educator (course development and delivery) of graduate studies in biostatistics and laboratory method evaluation.

After graduating from the University of Kansas, Nicole accepted a position as a lab tech at York Hospital in York, Maine. During the twelve years at York Hospital, she filled the role of Chemistry Specialist and learned about the various regulations in the laboratory field. As her knowledge grew, she realized her passion for educating others in her field So In 2017, she left the hospital laboratory for COLA where she worked as a surveyor, improving the quality of laboratories and the skills of those she meets. Currently, she is filling the role of Technical Training Specialist, and is responsible for the education of all COLA Technical Staff, as well as assisting with the creation of tools to educate laboratorians as a whole.

I am a medical laboratory scientist who has shifted into the medical device industry and corporate medical device education. To enhance my personal health goals, I advanced my education in Functional Medicine, a practice which has helped me educate others on lab values as they relate to fitness and wellness.

Sean Tucker is the Director of Laboratory Services at North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City Missouri. He received his B.S. from the University of Kansas Medical Center in Clinical Laboratory Science and Molecular Biotechnology. Sean received his Masters in Business Administration with Healthcare Emphasis from Rockhurst University. Sean has been an active member of the Clinical Laboratory Management Association on both the local chapter and national level. He currently is the CLMA Chapter representative on the CLMA Advisory Group for the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Sean received the ASCP Forty under 40 award in the 2014 inaugural ceremony and was also awarded the KUMC Early Career Achievement in Health Professions Alumnus by his alma mater in 2017. Sean enjoys cooking, coaching soccer, riding motorcycles and spending time with his wife Angel and two children Payton and Genevieve.

I have 12+ years of combined experience working in academic, research, and clinical laboratories. Currently, I coordinate the laboratory for one of the largest OB/GYN clinics in the Southeast. Tiffany Gill MA, MLS (ASCP)CM is a tenured professor and coordinator of the Medical Laboratory Technology program at the College of Southern Maryland in La Plata, MD. She teaches immunohematology, microbiology, biochemistry, and mycology, parasitology, and virology while maintaining NAACLS program continuous accreditation status. Through ASCP, she volunteers as a mentor, Career Ambassador, Social Media Committee member, and an ASCP Board of Certification Hematology Exam Committee member. She was one of the top five ASCP 40 Under Forty honorees for 2022. Ms. Gill founded the “Medical Lab Lady Gill” YouTube channel, offering virtual learning experiences for medical laboratory science students, current professionals, and promotional material for the laboratory profession. She partners with Aaron Odegard, the ASCP Council of Laboratory Professionals, and other ASCP members each fall to offer the Cell Bowl hematology competition to MLT and MLS students across the nation. The competition requires participants to correctly identify up to 30 blood cells in 60 seconds.
